How to play Nonogram
- Read the clues: 3 1 beside a row means a block of 3 filled squares, then at least one gap, then a block of 1.
- Tap or drag in Fill mode to paint squares. Switch to Cross (or right-click, or long-press) to mark squares that must be empty.
- A clue fades when its line matches. Filling a square that must be empty counts as a mistake, and it is crossed for you.
- Stuck? A hint fills a square that logic can prove and highlights the line that proves it.
- Finish with no mistakes or hints for three stars, and watch the picture appear.
Tips and strategy
- Start with big numbers. In a row of 10, a block of 7 must cover the middle 4 squares, wherever it sits.
- A clue of 0 means the whole line is empty. Cross it straight away.
- When the filled squares in a line already match its clue, cross every other square in that line.
- Work back and forth between rows and columns: each new square gives the other direction more information.

Common sticking point
A clue gives the lengths and order of filled groups, but not their exact positions. Do not guess a square just because it looks likely; use the crossing column clue to prove it.Try it away from the screen
Draw a 5 × 5 grid and choose a simple pixel shape, such as a plus sign. Write the row and column clues from your picture, then swap puzzles with someone and solve from the clues alone.Mini challenge
A row has 10 cells and one block of 7. Which cells must be filled no matter where the block starts? Mark only the overlap, then use the column clues to continue. How to use this practice path
Begin with short grids and clues that nearly fill a row. Mark forced fills and empties, then alternate between rows and columns. Use a hint only after checking the crossing clues.Where the idea goes next

FAQ
Nonogram: questions
How do you solve a nonogram?
Each number is the length of a block of filled squares, in order, with at least one empty square between blocks. Start with lines where the blocks nearly fill the line, mark squares that must be filled or empty, and use each new square to unlock the crossing lines.
What is the difference between a nonogram and Picross?
They are the same kind of puzzle. Picross, Griddlers, Hanjie and Paint by Numbers are other names for nonograms.
Do I ever need to guess?
No. Every puzzle here has exactly one solution and can be solved by logic alone, which our solver checks for every picture.
What age are these puzzles for?
The 5×5 tier suits ages 8 and up. The 10×10 and big pictures are a good challenge for teenagers and adults.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up or ads, and your stars are saved in your browser.
