Mental maths practice: faster with every round.
Pick a topic and a level, answer ten questions or race the clock for 60 seconds, and see your score straight away. Short, regular rounds build speed and confidence better than one long session.
How to get faster at mental maths
- Little and often. Five minutes a day beats an hour once a week. Do one round after school or with morning chai.
- Start easy, then level up. Move to the next level only when you are getting nine or ten right without rushing.
- Say how you got it. Explaining a method aloud, like โeight times seven is five-six because five-six-seven-eightโ, makes it stick.
- Use friendly numbers. To add 48 + 37, think 50 + 37 โ 2. To multiply by 5, multiply by 10 and halve.
What each level means
Easy uses numbers up to 10 or 20. Medium goes up to 100. Hard reaches 1,000 and tables to 20. Challenge adds bigger tables and trickier percentages. Pick โMixedโ to practise everything together.
