What the learner works on

1. Weeks 1–3
   Arithmetic

   Secure written and mental methods for the four operations, fractions, decimals, percentages and order of operations.

2. Weeks 4–6
   Fractions, decimals and percentages

   Compare representations, find equivalent values and solve problems with proportions.

3. Weeks 7–8
   Reasoning and problem solving

   Read carefully, select useful information, show a method and explain a conclusion.

4. Weeks 9–10
   Measures and shape

   Use units, perimeter, area, angles, properties of shapes, data and coordinates as covered in the Year 6 curriculum.

The order and pace change to suit the learner, and the teacher adjusts after every few classes. Always check the official bulletin for the current syllabus and dates.
