How to play Knights and Knaves
- Choose a level: two islanders, three islanders, or three with trickier statements.
- Read what each islander says.
- Mark each one as a Knight ๐ก๏ธ or a Knave ๐, then press Check.
- You get two tries. A hint settles one islander for you and costs 3 points.
- After each puzzle, see a table of every possible answer and exactly why the wrong ones fail.
Tips and strategy
- Pick one islander and suppose they are a knight. Follow what that means for the rest.
- If you reach a contradiction, your supposition was wrong, so they must be a knave.
- A knave's statement is false, so look at what the opposite would mean.
- Write the cases in a small table, like the game does at the end.

FAQ
Knights and Knaves: questions
Does every puzzle have only one solution?
Yes. The game tests all possible labellings of the islanders and only uses puzzles where exactly one works.
What if I get stuck?
Use the hint, which settles one islander for you, or suppose one islander is a knight and see whether that leads to a contradiction.
What age is it for?
About 10 and up. The two-person puzzles are a good start, and the three-person puzzles with group statements are a real challenge.
Is it free?
Yes. It is free to play, needs no account and runs in your browser.
