Scientific calculator: type it the way you'd write it.
Type a whole expression like (12 + 8) × 3² or sin(30) and see the answer live, or tap the keys. Switch between degrees and radians, and reuse earlier answers from the history.
What it can do
- Arithmetic and brackets: + − × ÷ and ( ). It follows the order of operations (BODMAS): brackets first, then powers, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction.
- Powers and roots: use ^ for powers (2^10 = 1024), √( ) or sqrt( ) for square roots and cbrt( ) for cube roots.
- Trigonometry: sin, cos, tan and their inverses asin, acos, atan. Choose Degrees or Radians first; sin(30) is 0.5 in degrees mode.
- Logs and constants: log( ) is base 10, ln( ) is natural log, π and e are built in, and Ans reuses the last result.
- Extras: n! for factorial (up to 170!), % for percent (50% = 0.5), abs( ), floor( ), ceil( ) and round( ).
If you only need percentages, fractions or equations, the dedicated tools show their working: percentage, fractions and the quadratic solver.
FAQ
Common questions
Is the answer in degrees or radians?
Whichever mode is selected at the top. Degrees is the default, which suits most school problems. Switch to Radians for calculus and physics.
How do I calculate a square root?
Type sqrt(144) or tap √ then 144 and a closing bracket. The result is 12.
Does it follow BODMAS?
Yes. 2 + 3 × 4 gives 14, not 20, because multiplication is done before addition. Use brackets to change the order.
