What the learner works on

  1. Weeks 1–2
    Find the first gap

A short, friendly check of number sense, tables and fractions shows where the trouble began.

  2. Weeks 3–4
    Place value and number sense

Tens, ones and the big numbers, with objects and pictures.

  3. Weeks 5–6
    Tables and number facts

Patterns and games instead of chanting, so facts stay.

  4. Weeks 7–8
    Fractions and decimals

Fraction strips, number lines and money, the ideas most children stumble on.

  5. Weeks 9–10
    Word problems

Reading, drawing and choosing the operation.

  6. Weeks 11–12
    Back to the chapter

Return to this year's textbook with the gaps closed.

The order and pace change to suit the learner, and the teacher adjusts after every few classes. Topics follow the learner's board or level.
