How to play Maths Practice
- Choose a grade (Grade 1 to 8, which is also Year 2 to 9 and Class 1 to 8) and tap a skill, such as times tables, fractions or equations.
- Type your answer and press Check (or Enter). You see at once whether you were right and what the answer is.
- Each right answer fills the mastery meter. A wrong answer lowers it a little, so careful work wins.
- After three right answers in a row the questions get harder. After two wrong answers in a row they get easier.
- Reach 100 to master the skill, or press Finish any time. Your best mastery score for each skill is saved on this device.
Tips and strategy
- Do a short session every day. Ten minutes on one skill beats an hour once a week.
- Read each question twice before you answer. A wrong answer costs more mastery than a right one earns.
- If a skill feels too hard, try the matching skill in an earlier grade and work back up.
- Use the printable worksheet for the same skill to practise away from the screen.
- For fractions and remainders, type the answer the way the question asks, for example 3/4 or 9 R 2.

Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and it works on phones, tablets and computers.
Which grades does it cover?
Grade 1 to Grade 8, which is Year 2 to Year 9 in England and Class 1 to Class 8 in India. Each skill shows the grade it is usually taught in.

Your best mastery for each skill is saved in your own browser only. Nothing is sent to a server.
